Endless days lost to the grind
Countless women forfeit life
Martyrs of industry
All suffer in solidarity
Silence burns and crushes coal
Cold hands light our way no more
Maladie! White phosphorus consumes
Infants teethe on garments drenched in…
Sulphur masks the stench of open sores
Jaw bones crumble as they try to breathe
Silence burns and crushes coal
Cold hands light our way no more

What an impressive piece of black metal. This one-man hurricane is pure art. Sgah‘gahsowáh creates an haunting atmosphere. He puts so much soul in his music. Sælzer Bub

Blackbraid quickly followed up their 2022 debut in 2023 with more native folk infused furious black metal. This is by no means a sophomore slump as it is equally excellent, methodical, melodical, and approachable as the first record. 9/10 RJ

I think the concluding song encapsulates what I most enjoy about this album: a defiant hopefulness that stands against the dark, determined to rise again when its knocked down, determined that it will know hope. archival_blob
The Los Angeles outfit, led by Keir Gilchrist of "Atypical" fame, barrel through six molten-hot death-metal tracks with reckless abandon. Bandcamp New & Notable Jan 29, 2020

The variety and variations, along with the exceptional track lengths, means you will need to listen to this at least a thousand times in order to pick up every aspect and nuance of the album. The guest appearances - and instrumental diversity - are also a true highlight. This is part of what makes this recording so enjoyable: with each subsequent listen, a new and interesting aspect of a track commits itself to your memory. M Elliot
